3D Printed Lamp
This project was very much inspired by this beautiful lamp by Muka Design Lab.
I was very intrigued by the idea of using clear filament or very thin perimeters of color filament and seeing how the light inside interacted with the object.
I modeled something similar in Fusion and first printed some test prints with light color filament. It was super flimsy and barely any light got out, and if I increased the layer height, the whole thing almost fell apart.
Then I transitioned into using clear filament, which gave better results, and I added a rotating locking mechanism to open and close it.
Version 2 base and head models. For this version I added a recess on the base for the bulb base.
Version 1. The bulb base just sits on the base - not very good.
I gifted one to a friend as a birthday present! This is Juan’s lamp.
